Kareena Kapoor Khan Reveals Her Pregnancy Diet Which Includes A Lot Of Ghee

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has been dropping some exciting news throughout the year. First, it was about joining the Laal Singh Chaddha cast as the leading lady opposite Aamir Khan, and then her second pregnancy.

As fans eagerly await the arrival of Kareena and Saif’s second child, Kareena’s followers are curious to know her pregnancy diet plan.

Recently, the soon-to-be-mommy shared a picture of a homemade mirch ka achaar that her friend had sent her, making everyone wonder if these are just cravings or foods she actually loves. In a recent chat with a national daily, Kareena shared the lessons she learned after having her first child and revealed secrets behind her diet and fitness regime during pregnancy.

Talking about the lessons she learned after her first pregnancy with Taimur, Kareena shared that she learned she must only eat for herself and not for two people. As the popular notion goes that a woman must eat for two, Kareena took the same path and ended up gaining 25 kilos. She said, “Women have a lot of cravings when they are pregnant, but I realised that I must eat for myself as opposed to eating for two.” 

The Jab We Met star further urged people to stick to the basics like grains and vegetables for nutrition. She also chose to speak about her fitness regime while expecting and revealed that she follows her usual routine on a regular basis. 

Ghee, curd and simple Indian food are her go-to

The actor mentioned that she swears by the ‘superfood’ ghee and adds it to almost all her meals. Apart from that, Kareena ensures she eats curd at least once a day. 

Talking more about food and meat, she said, “I consume simple Indian food and have been a vegetarian for a major part of my life. [Even today] I can keep from consuming meat for long periods of time. Excess of anything can have ill-effects. But depriving yourself is also not required. Striking the right balance, and sticking to the right proportion is the trick.”

Even during pregnancy Kareena is staying active with her workouts and shoots

Further, Kareena mentioned that she has great friends like Amrita Arora and Malaika Arora who inspire her to stay fit constantly. She said, “This is great because we keep each other driven, and egg one another on to follow the routine together. We have our group workout sessions often, and that is fun.”

Meanwhile, Kareena is continuing work during her second pregnancy like she did the first time around. She recently returned to Mumbai with Saif and Taimur after finishing her last schedule for Laal Singh Chaddha. Soon after she was seen at a homeshoot with her sister Karisma Kapoor.
