All five flavors of LivBars are now available in 88 select Walmart stores in California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Florida. They will be on a coveted end-of-the-aisle space (endcap), looking to expand to all 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide.
“I’m excited that we are now in Walmart and can offer their customers a healthy and amazing organic option in the sea of candy bars disguised as health food,” said founder and nutritionist Jan Johansen. “We offer a truly healthy, organic, real food option, and it’s heartwarming to see people paying more attention to their health and their food choices.”
“Walmart is the largest retailer in the world and this partnership is exciting from both a business perspective and to drive further adoption of organic options,” said Wade Brooks, CEO. “I know Jan’s vision and passion is organic real food, and as a practicing nutritionist, she is helping people change their lifestyles every day. This is a major step in getting her message and the product she created into the hands of health-conscious consumers nationwide.”
LivBars are currently available nationwide, online at Amazon Prime, Amazon Subscribe and Save, direct from the LivBar website (http://www.livbar.com), and in thousands of stores including Whole Foods, Erewhon, Fresh Thyme, Piggly Wiggly, Bristol Farms, New Seasons Market, Kings Food Market, and Market of Choice.
LivBar is distributed nationally through UNFI, KeHE, Core-Mark, McLane, and DPI Specialty Foods.
LivBar was founded in 2012 in Salem, Oregon, by two nutrition and fitness experts, Jan and Gabe Johansen. LivBars are innovative as one of the few baked bars in the nation and are in the sweet spot between hard nut bars and soft date paste bars. They are all plant-based, USDA certified organic, have superfood ingredients, are low allergen, and come in the bar industry’s only home compostable wrapper. In addition to being gluten-free, peanut-free, dairy-free, corn-free, soy-free, and GMO free, they are vegetarian and vegan.
